Within paediatrics we are committed to delivering high quality, safe patient care.

We recognise that the professional development of our multi-disciplinary team is vital in achieving this objective.

The post holder will join an established education team who provide training to paediatric staff and learners across UHB.

We require someone that is creative and flexible to meet the needs of the paediatric agenda by working with the nursing staff in a variety of settings and at different times. You may be involved with the delivery of clinical skills sessions, mandatory training, clinical supervision & simulated clinical assessments.

This is an exciting time to join the team as we are expanding our paediatric portfolio and participating in new projects to develop the workforce for the future.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The applicant must be an experienced paediatric nurse with established clinical nursing skills, ideally this would include exposure to HDU. The individual must be confident, patient and trustworthy in order to build honest, supportive relationships with staff members. The post holder must enjoy contributing to the development of others and have a passion for designing and implementing training.

The post holder will need to have a flexible approach to teaching and understand the diverse staff learning requirements, pastoral care is a significant part of the role therefore coaching techniques are valuable and confidentiality is vital for establishing strong learning partnerships.

This job role will open avenues for professional development and future career opportunities.

On occasions it may be preferable to calculate working hours over a monthly period in order for training commitments to be achieved, therefore there will not be a set shift pattern but your shifts will be planned with a senior educator in advance.
