Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and highly enthusiastic individual to join the Postgraduate Medical Education team supporting the Trust's Study Leave processes for all grades of Medical Staff employed within the Trust.

Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Study Leave Coordinator, which oversees and provides a central administration service for all Study Leave requests received by Medical Staff employed by the Trust and should have all the essential requirements as outlined in the person specification.

The role requires a dynamic individual with excellent organisational and communication skills. The role involves communicating with a wide range of people at all levels, both internal and external to the organisation. We are looking for an individual who is a self-starter and has the ability to perform both autonomously and as part of the team. You will be able to manage and prioritise a highly demanding, and at times complex workload, which can require meticulous attention to detail and the ability to be able to work under pressure adhering to tight deadlines. You will possess excellent I.T skills and be able to provide, receive and process multifaceted data to meet the desired outcomes. You will have a flexible approach to work and be able to adapt quickly to any operational issues and unforeseen challenges, that require immediate and prompt resolution to support the continued smooth running of the services in which we offer.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The successful candidate will be based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, however may be required to travel to any of the University Hospital Birmingham sites, to ensure the need of the service are meet.

Monday -- 09:30am until 17:00pm (7hrs (with a 30min break))

Tuesday -- 09:30am until 15:15pm (5hrs 45mins)

Friday -- 09:15am until 15:15pm (6hrs)

Qualifications

*GCSE English and Maths A-C/ 9-4

* NVQ level 3 in Business/ Administration or equivalent experience in an administrative role

*RSA level II or equivalent experience

*Recent experience of working within an administrative role with proven track record of problem solving

*Experience of working with sensitive and confidential information.

*Experienced in using own initiative and working to changing deadlines

*Proficient in Microsoft software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.

*Ability to deal professionally with enquiries from staff, patients and visitors

*Work effectively and flexibly as part of a team to meet the needs of the services

* Demonstrate an understanding of equality and diversity
