Job summary

This is a great opportunity to work as an administrator for Medical Engineering to provide secretarial support to the department/Team with particular responsibility for audio typing letters, general copy typing correspondence and taking and preparing minutes and reports. 

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The role will involve the provision of administrative services for Medical Engineering. The post holder will work closely with the Chief Technician and Engineers to provide admin support to deal with telephone enquiries, input job requests for the repair/maintenance of medical equipment on the department's equipment management system maintain diaries as required, log all Pre-Acquisition Questionnaire's on the department's equipment management system, raising and receipting of orders, preparation of agendas, generate minutes, reports and presentations, using Word, Excel, Power Point and other relevant software.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C)

RSA level II or equivalent experience

Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a clerical environment

Experience

Essential

Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience

Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)

Experience of using IT systems

Good communication / customer care skills both written and verbal demonstrating sympathy and compassion

Good keyboard / IT skills

Good organisation skills and ability to multitask

Good time management skills
