Main duties, tasks & skills required

We are currently looking to recruit dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated, and forward thinking Theatre Support Workers. As a Band 2 Theatre support worker you should be motivated, have a keen interest in the peri-operative environment and excellent communication skills. No experience is required for this post as full training and support will be given.

All new starters are supported in their work area by the theatres clinical education team as well as the theatres teams themselves.

In your application you must demonstrate your interest in the Theatre Support Worker role and possess the strengths and qualities required for this position.

You will be required to cover a range of shifts, which will include weekends, bank holidays, late/night duty, and the out of hours on call services. At University Hospitals Birmingham we support flexible working and welcome applications from Persons seeking flexible working opportunities.

*Functional skills Level 2 English Language and Maths Qualification or GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English Language

*Care Certificate or evidence or Training & Development associated with Health Care Support Worker role

*Level 2/3 NVQ/ Diploma in care

Experience

Essential

*Recent previous experience in a care environment

*Experience of working / participating as part of a team.

*Evidence of ability to work using own initiative and under minimal supervision

*Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the role and tasks involved

*Can articulate the reasons for training/ standards of practice and behaviour and how these may be demonstrated / relate to patient care and safety

*Shows enthusiasm for the role and is interested in working in a theatre environment
