Band 3 Legal Support Officer

Job summary

This is a busy and rewarding role and is a great opportunity to be part of our legal services team.

The Legal Support Officer will provide a high quality, comprehensive, proactive and effective administrative support service for the legal team to support the smooth and efficient running of the department. This includes being the first point of contact for the team, managing a team inbox, updating databases, identifying patient records, raising invoices for payment, monitoring claims and inquests, and compliance with governing policies and national legislation.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The post holder is required to communicate effectively and courteously with a range of internal/external personnel whilst providing a high level of customer service and administration delivery.

The role requires a high level of accuracy and an eye for detail as you will be setting up claims and inquests and maintaining a database of all cases. You will also be responsible for identifying patient information and locating medical records on a daily basis.

You will work as part of a team alongside other staff within the department and be part of a wider multidisciplinary team delivering a high quality administrative service.

* GCSE A-C or equivalent in Maths and English OR Functional Skills Level 2

* Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent relevant experience

* Experience of diary management

* Experience of supporting a busy team with administrative tasks and data entry with the ability to work flexibly and multi-task
