Job summary

Exciting opportunity working with leading Consultants in the fields of Orthodontics , Oral and MaxilloFacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry in Birmingham.

Working as part of a Dynamic, friendly and supportive team of Consultant, specialist Orthodontists and dental nurses on the Good Hope Hospital site, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

The role supports provision of Secondary care Orthodontic services managing complex malocclusions, often managed with other dental specialities for Orthognathic, Impacted teeth, Hypodontia and Trauma patients.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experience or newly qualified Orthodontic Therapist, to work in a busy service with guidance & support of expert clinicians.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The successful candidate will implement orthodontic care plans and undertake orthodontic treatments under prescription of Consultant Orthodontist. They should possess in-depth specialist knowledge of a wide range of a range of orthodontic/oral health procedures & treatments

They will assess the oral health of patients by history taking & observation, providing appropriate advice and guidance to patients. Reporting any concerns to the clinicians managing the patients care.

They will need to be an excellent communicator. Expert in using their persuasive skills to communicate complex condition and treatment related information, to patients who may be anxious, have communication difficulties, or complex needs.
