Applications are invited for the post of Junior Specialist Doctor to work at Standard (StR 1-2 equivalent) level in Renal Surgery at QEHB. The post would begin in August 2023 on a fixed term basis for 6 months. There are no on-call commitments for this post.

The posts are not HEE recognised training posts but will train doctors in a similar way and with the competencies required for future progression.

Job description

The renal service at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital provides a comprehensive integrated programme for the investigation and management of the full spectrum of renal disease from investigational nephrology to renal transplantation. The Group is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, but in addition it provides in and outpatient services to the Alexander Hospital Redditch, Sandwell Hospital, Hereford County Hospital and The Birmingham Women's Hospital. The Group currently has contracts for end stage renal failure with the five purchasing consortia within the West Midlands Health Region.

This 40 hour post would be suitable for a doctor with an interest in renal transplantation and we will consider applicants with an interest in medicine or surgery. Additional training opportunities will be available in the applicants' chosen field of interest. The role is currently a daytime only post although we are hoping to develop a six day week working pattern.
