Job summary

In July 2024, the landscape of elective surgery will be transformed for the residents of Birmingham and Solihull with the opening of a dedicated elective surgical hub at Solihull hospital.

Building on best practice nationally, this hub will provide a unique opportunity to shape and deliver therapy provision in pathways which promote patient engagement. If you are seeking the chance to work in an innovative setting, we have the role for you.

The elective pathway covers both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as community. We are looking for enthusiastic, self motivated Physiotherapists who have an interest in one or more of our specialities;

-Surgery

-Trauma and Orthopaedics

-Musculoskeletal therapy

You will work alongside a dynamic team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and therapy support workers as well as the multiprofessional team. As an autonomous practitioner you will be responsible for your own cases within a clear and defined area allowing you to practice with confidence with support from the clinical lead.

This post would be suitable either for an experienced band 6 Physiotherapist or a band 5-6 Physiotherapist development post with a competency framework, training and guidance to support your move to a band 6 role within 6 months. We are committed to your career development as well as maximising your talent.

The roles available are a mix of full time and part time hours. Participation in extended hours and out of hours may be required.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

*Diploma / degree in physiotherapy/occupational therapy.

*Current registration with Health Professions Council.

*A levels or equivalent qualification

*Good standard of general education including GCSE maths and English grade C and above.

*Evidence of CPD including recent post graduate training relevant to clinical speciality.

Experience

Essential

Demonstrates comprehensive clinical experience enabling the post holder to manage a caseload of patients with complex needs in this speciality

Significant experience of working in an a large complex organisation in a health care environment / acute hospital setting including acute hospital experience in MSK

Evidence of Team / service development

Supervision of students/assistants/Therapy Support Workers

A specialist knowledge across a range of physiotherapy practices, routine and non-routine, requiring expertise within the field of physiotherapy

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
