We have a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is considering a career in Community Nursing and wants to begin a District Nurse Specialist Practitioner qualification in the next 12 -- 24 months!

Our band 6 Deputy District Nurse role guarantees UHB funding and support for your university application onto the District Nurse Specialist Practitioner course; subject to successful university clearance with a commencement date of September 2023 or 2024.

We will consider applicants who require flexible working, condensed or part time hours however on commencement of the course there would be a requirement to meet the demands of the Specialist Practitioner programme which is currently a full time commitment, Monday to Friday for 12 months.

This rewarding role involves the effective management of a defined Community caseload of patients, including patients with very complex needs. You will have responsibility for setting the highest agreed standards of quality and evidenced based care, and the ability to embrace the challenges of the changing and growing demands of the primary care setting.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to hold a band 6 role whilst developing clinical, leadership and theoretical skills in District Nursing.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

We are looking for highly motivated, forward-thinking, energetic, and innovative individuals who pride themselves in providing complex and holistic patient assessment, and who are dedicated to delivering exceptional standards of care. This will include individual and personalised support, coaching and assessment in order to maximise your full individual potential.

As a Senior nurse you will demonstrate good leadership skills with the ability to independently make sound clinical and leadership judgements and regularly support and supervise junior colleagues.

We require at least 12 months post registration experience in a nursing environment, ideally with community experience. For candidates who are able to commence the District Nurse Specialist Practitioner course in September 2023, a diploma in nursing or related field will be required. For course attendance after September 2023, a degree or evidence of study at level 6 would essential for these posts.

Core hours are Weekdays 9am- 5pm however, you will need to be available to meet the needs of the service by working flexibly between the hours of 7am to 9pm over 7 days on a rota basis, and be able to drive/ Car owner.

Essential

Current registration as a Registered Nurse

Level 1 (Adult).

Commitment to undertake Post Registration

District Nurse Qualification.

Diploma in health/ nursing related field if you

are able to commit to commence the

Specialist Practitioner Qualification in District

Nursing in September 2023. Degree in health/

nursing related field or evidence of significant

study at level 6 will be required to undertake

the course after September 2023.

Experience

Essential
