Band 4 ED Reception Team Leader
Job summary
This is a set shift pattern of 4 days on 4 days off and the hours are 1400pm - 2300pm
You will be line managing a group of ED Receptionist who are the first point of contact for patients/visitors of the Emergency Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birminghmam, and to undertake all the administrative and clerical duties.
To support the clinical and non-clinical functioning of the ED. To become compliant in the Trusts IT systems to carry out the daily duties expected of an ED team leader in order for the business and operational nature of the service to flow effectively. To provide full administrative and clerical duties to support the functioning of the departments and the multidisciplinary team. Ensuring adequate cover at all times to support the needs of the service.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
As an A&E Team Leader you will be based in A&E linking in with patients, relatives, ambulance staff and clinical staff. You will be responsible for getting an accurate record of the patient's reason for attending hospital and recording their demographic information such as name, address, contact details and ethnicity. You will also be responsible for administrative duties such as booking appointments in fracture clinics and filing and scanning important clinical information onto hospital systems.
I addition you will be responsible for the;
* Daily management of the A&E receptionists,
*Completing appraisal, rotas and monitoring sickness absences and annual leave,
*Staff training and monitoring performance
This is a critical front facing role to ensure that we have accurate records of our patients and their care/journey through our Hospitals. These journeys are recorded on Trust systems and the accuracy and timelines of this is critical to the smooth running of services for our patients.
