An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join a team who are responsible for the delivery of high quality clinical, educational and operational resuscitation services across University Hospitals Birmingham and community services. 

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The Senior Resuscitation Officer role is recognised as a specialised clinical expert within the field of Resuscitation across all hospital sites and community services at University Hospitals Birmingham. Under the Supervision and support of the Lead Resuscitation Officer you will be responsible for the daily management of the service, and delivery of evidence based resuscitation programmes of education, which addresses the professional and service development needs of clinical, non-clinical and other allied staff across the Trust, including partnerships with the shared health facility at the Queen Elizabeth site. This includes the development of the service in relation to the needs identified through audit processes, to facilitate improved outcomes from resuscitation, in collaboration with the multi- disciplinary teams. You will also act as a nominated rotational link on all resuscitation matters between the trust and Harborne Hospital (shared health facility at the Queen Elizabeth site).

You will need to have a specialist knowledge and clinical experience within the field of resuscitation of adults, be a RCUK instructor, have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise and co-ordinate in order to ensure patient safety, be flexible to changing daily priorities and remain calm under pressure. Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

*5 x Levels / GCSE's at grade C or above, including Maths and English

*Current registration on a professional clinical register NMC or HCPC

*Recognised teaching Qualification or significant teaching experience in the field of resuscitation

*Instructor & Director status for Advanced National Resuscitation Courses

Desirable

*Willingness to work towards a Master's degree in health related subject

*Post Registration Qualification in a relevant field.

Experience

*Knowledge of appropriate professional bodies codes of practice

*Specialist Knowledge within the field of resuscitation of adults

*Critically analyse research and apply to practice

*Knowledge of current policies, practices and procedures within nursing, healthcare and the Trust

*Knowledge of extended role responsibilities
