Pathology is in the position to recruit a full time (37.5 hours) Band 6 CNS to support its Chemical Pathology service. The successful candidate will be predominantly based at Heartlands Hospital working alongside the Chemical Pathology Consultant and a team of medical secretaries.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic nurse with excellent communication skills to supplement our team. You will need an in-depth clinical knowledge, which should be supported by recent experience/qualifications and the ability to work autonomously within a supportive multidisciplinary team is essential.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
The chosen candidate should be able to assess, plan and implement treatment plans for patients under the care of the Lipid clinics. Plan and implement to the organisation and delivery of specialist training to other health care professionals, carers in all aspects of lipid management. To have the ability to work autonomously in the provision of a specialist, evidence based and high quality service for our patients.
To act in a defined area of lipid management with Inclisiran and PCSK9 treatments. Support in running Inclisiran injection clinics and training patients to administer PCKS9 themselves. Lead on a specific aspect of a research and development projects.
Training will be offered on the job in order to build skills in assessment and implementation.

*Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
*Evidence of post registration CPD / post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to FHEQ Level 6
Experience
Essential
*Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
*Significant post registration experience, with evidence of passion/ enthusiasm and knowledge for the associated area of specialist practice
*Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/ competence
*Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to speciality
*Experience and enthusiasm for teaching/assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting
*Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment
*Demonstrate understanding / experience / willingness to be a practice-based supervisor / assessor as detailed in the NMC
