University Hospitals Birmingham are looking for an experienced senior IT project manager to play a central role in the management and delivery of multiple complex projects. Vacancies have arisen due to investment in the Trust's IT & Digital Transformation programmes. You will be responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of projects to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined, monitored, and achieved within the agreed timescale, cost and quality constraints ensuring readiness for change. As a senior IT project manager, you will be working with the Programme team and will play a key role working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised. You will have effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. You will also need knowledge and experience of NHS processes and clinical EHR systems and an understanding of the opportunities and benefits that new technologies can provide to clinical workflows and patient outcomes.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The main duties of the job will be as follows:

Facilitate the development of Business Cases and options appraisals.

Day to day management and effective leadership and management control of projects. Setup the appropriate project governance structures/controls. Oversee the transition of the projects through the project lifecycle

Deliver projects to the agreed outcomes within time, cost, and quality constraints.

Schedule / manage and deploy resources to deliver the project identifying skills where necessary. May work independently or with a team.

Responsible for identifying, negotiating, agreeing, and managing all expenditure, contracts, budgets and ongoing revenue associated with a project

Identify key stakeholders and develop and maintain effective relationships.

Identify and monitor risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.

Provide programme/project reports and support effective governance and decision making.

Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.

Degree level education or equivalent in ICT related field (E)

PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent experience (E)

Experience

Extensive experience (including at a senior level within an ICT environment) and educated to Masters level or equivalent (E)

Proven successful delivery of high profile projects (E)

Led large projects (E)

Experienced in a staff management role (E)
