With the aim of reaching a million people with our life-changing education and training resources, Solihull Approach is looking for an exceptional communications and engagement professional to support us on our journey to realising this ambition.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a dedicated team, which supports mental health and wellbeing in parents, children, schools, older adults and high stress workplaces through an evidence based model in trainings, online courses and resources -- across the UK and internationally.

You need to be an experienced communications and engagement professional, with specific skills in marketing and stakeholder management, as well as highly developed interpersonal qualities. We are looking for someone who is innovative and creative, and who isn't afraid of a challenge, and is passionate about what they do.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

Provide expert specialist, creative and innovative advice on external and internal communication engagement and marketing for the programme

Create deliver innovative communications, engagement and marketing plans. Support the delivery of the programme's objectives and generate income

Be the lead first point of contact for external and internal Trust communications engagement and public affairs enquiries

Promote the development of the programme create and maintain positive relationships with wide-ranging stakeholders

Design and deliver comprehensive evidence-based communications engagement and marketing plans

Identify pro-actively manage local, regional, national, international and internal stakeholders. Tailor activity to meet their needs. Resolve issues when they arises for different channels and target audiences. Ensure they are inclusive

Identify and produce high-quality content and effective social media campaigns for use across external and internal channels e.g media and social media Trust communications

Regularly evaluate activities to inform future planning

Understand and assess communications and engagement related risks mitigating against them and escalating accordingly

Support the design and delivery of events for stakeholders

Provide intelligence research analysis and advice on political issues relating to regional local regional and national issues. Prepare written responses to parliamentary and other enquiries

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

Educated to degree level.

Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through evidence of further personal/ academic development, experience, or training to Masters level or equivalent.

Relevant postgraduate qualification/ experience in communications and/or marketing.

Experience

Essential

Significant communications and engagement management experience within a complex organisation.

Developing evidence based researched and deliverable communication and engagement plans.

Ability to give advice at a range of organisational levels.

Tailoring communications messages to key audiences in all sections of the community, including the media, hostile and antagonistic audiences.

Experience of accurately mapping stakeholders, understanding their influence and interest to ensure targeted and inclusive communications and engagement.

Designing, organising and managing high profile events for staff and the public.

Experience of creating opportunities and working collaboratively with internal and external partners.

Experience of working in complex project situations.

Excellent awareness and knowledge of the political environment locally and nationally.
