Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Undergraduate Team within the Clinical Teaching Academy at BHH. The post holder will provide a professional coordinator role supporting Medical Students allocated to the Trust from Universities across Birmingham. Ensuring they have support and all teaching is arranged and delivered, timetables are kept up to date and are all students are provided with everything they need as per their Learning Objectives.

The successful candidate will possess good organisational and administrative skills with an understanding of medical education along with an ability to communicate with all levels of staff within the Trust to include students, patients and consultants.

General duties will also include managing databases, filing and other ad-hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of the Undergraduate office.

Travel across all UHB sites may be required at times to cover.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

To act as a link between students and teaching Consultants on issues relating to timetables, rota systems, room bookings and examinations/assessments. To facilitate effective communication between consultants and medical students.

To co-ordinate the provision of an induction for students on their first day of placement including the provision of information packs for each student, to include timetables, general information, lecture programme and teaching firm details.

To maintain the filing system and student records, both on paper and in the Undergraduate generic folder in the Trust network for consultation by other team members.

To establish and maintain good working relationships and effective communications with other Trust departments used by the students, e.g. Clinical Skills, Libraries, Postgraduate Education and medical secretaries.

To make sure the department has all necessary stationery and equipment available by ordering through I Procurement.

*Business and Administration NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

*RSA II or ECDL or equivalent

*Minimum of 2 years administrative or co-ordinating experience

*Proven administrative experience

*Minimum of 2 years experiences of Undergraduate Medical Education/Medical Education
