Job summary

A job opportunity has arisen for a highly organised personal assistant within ward 14, gastroenterology at Good Hope Hospital.

Your role will be to provide secretarial and administrative support to the senior ward sister, to assist with daily tasks.

To ensure success you should be able to demonstrate experience in a secretarial role, and be able to work autonomously to provide support.

In return you will be working in a friendly and supportive environment within the UHB trust.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

Your key responsibilities will be:

Provide administrative support and arrange meetings as required

Miscellaneous tasks to support the manager within the ward.

Managing filing systems.

Assist in the organisation of work loads

Diary management, leave management

Responding to emails

You will need to be able to:

Communicate clearly both in verbal and written communication.

Be organised in your approach to work.

Understand the importance around confidentiality.

Have a good level of numeracy and literacy skills

Have a knowledge of standard software packages, and the ability to learn specific software as required.

Qualifications

Essential

*Good General Education (eg. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4

*Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an administrative environment

Experience

*Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience

*Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)

*Experience of using IT systems
