Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for several Band 3 Waiting List Co-ordinators to work within the Inpatient Booking Offices based either at Solihull Hospital, Good hope Hospital or Heartlands Hospital. Please note the successful candidates may be required to cover across UHB hospital sites if required

Main duties, tasks & skills required

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Booking Office is a busy, fast paced environment with a large team of Waiting List Co-ordinators booking for many specialities across all UHB sites

The post holder will be part of a large Waiting List team and will be responsible for the day to day compiling of waiting lists, the co-ordination of scheduling patients and the effective utilisation of theatre lists.

The post holder is responsible for providing a comprehensive administration role for the management of a speciality waiting list, inputting booking forms accurately on to the inpatient waiting list, dealing with patient queries or concerns, liaising with internal stakeholders such as Consultants, Speciality Managers, Theatre staff and secretaries, maintaining an accurate record of patient availability on Oceano and speaking to patients to agree a suitable date for pre op and admission.

The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring the Theatre lists they are allocated to book are fully utilised and any cancellations replaced, whilst following all booking process and policies.

The post holder will be required to manage waiting lists ensuring compliance with local and national targets and the Trust's Patient Access Policy.

Qualifications

*Good General Education (eg. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4

*Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an administrative environment

Experience

*Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience

*Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)

*Experience of using IT systems
