Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an EQA Assistants to support in the day to day running of our post room and laboratory.

We are looking for an EQAS Assistant to work within a friendly, professional and busy team dedicated to providing External Quality Assessment (EQA) programmes to Hospital Laboratories.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to patient care by providing services designed to guarantee the quality of patient test results.

The hours are full time, notionally between 08:30 and 17:00, and the position is permanent.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The job is varied and includes

*Laboratory work:

receiving, checking and processing biological materials

manufacture of EQA specimens

labelling and packaging of specimens

*Dispatching EQA surveys to participants

*Specialist administration and record keeping

*Responding to general enquiries from participants by telephone and in writing (e-mail)

*Working as part of a busy team

Full details are given in the job description and person specification. Experience gained in a clinical laboratory or an EQA centre within the Biochemistry discipline would be a distinct advantage.
