We are hiring across specialities across our sites in Renal, cardiology, Liver and Cardiac/Thoracic Surgery. We have variety of Band 5 nurse jobs. The posts are available across our clinics; wards and outpatient areas

Main duties, tasks & skills required
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital cardiology department includes: Coronary Care Unit, Cardiac Catheter Labs and Ward 304. Cardiac Services at QE are a major regional centre for the diagnosis and treatment of complex acute and chronic cardiac conditions. It is also major centre for heart and lung transplantation and the provision of a 24 hour Primary PCI service. Cardiac inpatients services consists of a 36 bedded cardiology ward, a 36 bedded cardiac surgical ward and a 12 bedded level 2 Coronary Care Unit. There are also 4 purpose built Cath Labs adjacent to the Coronary Care Unit, where complex and pioneering diagnostic and interventional procedures are undertaken. Cardiac Services also offers highly specialised cardiac services for a broad range of cardiac conditions, such as Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Genetic and Inherited Cardiac Conditions.
The HGS hospitals Cardiology department currently spans three hospital sites, Birmingham Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope Hospitals. As a centre of excellence for cardiac care we boast a national reputation for the provision of high quality, effective and a patient focussed approach towards nursing care. We have a full range of modern cardiology services. We provide 24hour PPCI service, Diagnostic angiography, PPM and complex devices. As part of the Cardiac Cath Lab team you will be expected to work across all three sites and participate in weekend / overnight on call as necessary at BHH.

Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register
Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
Experience
Essential
Previous / recent experience or working in an acute secondary NHS care setting can include student placements within the last 12 months
Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/ competence
Experience of working on own and in a team in a health care environment delegating to others within a team / providing supervision to others
Willingness to become a practice supervisor / assessor to or meets Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment
Understanding and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct
Understanding of preceptorship and work based learning and assimilation of skills and knowledge
Awareness of current relevant NHS policy context
Understanding / experience of the principles of safeguarding and Mental Capacity
Awareness of health and safety issues
