An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, compassionate Dietitian to join our forward thinking Macmillan Dietetics team at Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals.
This is a permanent full time post. This post provides an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical, management, leadership and service improvement skills. You will have access to regular support to develop you towards the next stage of your career. The Macmillan Dietetic team fully support and encourage professional development. We are passionate about improving outcomes for patients.
We are looking for an individual who is able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to teach and inspire colleagues through active demonstration of clinical practice.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
In addition to the clinical aspects of the role, the post-holder will have the opportunity to develop management, leadership and service improvement skills and experience.
You will lead the team with a Band 7 Macmillan Dietitian to ensure that patients receive high-quality, patient-centred care across inpatient and outpatient services.
You will manage a complex, specialist caseload across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull sites. The caseload includes both medical and surgical specialities within oncology such as upper gastrointestinal, head and neck, hepato-pancreato-biliary, gynaecology-oncology and many more.
Your role will include
* Specialist care of oncology patients at an advanced level
* Co-management of the band 5 and 6 Macmillan dietitian team
* Day-to-day provision of the nutrition and dietetic service for oncology patients
* Outpatient oncology dietetic clinics
* Covering consultant-led surgical oncology clinics (upper GI and/or ENT)
* Joint AHP/CNS clinics
* Covering a variety of oncology inpatients across sites
* Working as part of a team of Macmillan dietitians and the wider dietetic department
* Work closely as a integral member of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care
* Promoting dietetics and the role of the dietitian in oncology

Qualifications
Essential
* Degree in Dietetics or equivalent
* Current registration with HCPC
Experience
Essential
* Demonstration of clinical experience enabling post holder to manage a complex caseload of patients within cancer services
* Demonstration of significant clinical experience of working with patients with a variety of cancer conditions
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and Dietetic team
* Excellent clinical knowledge of cancer dietetic care
Desirable
Experience of parenteral nutrition
Experience working in both outpatient and inpatient clinical care settings
Additional Criteria

* Insight into own CPD needs and appropriate strategies to address them
* Enthusiasm for the development and promotion of the service, the clinical leadership of the team and the ability to demonstrate initiative
* Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt communication style
