The HGS hospitals (part of University Hospitals Birmingham) Cardiology department currently spans three hospital sites, Birmingham Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope Hospitals.

We currently have a vacancy for a part time (23 hrs) band 5 cardiology pre-operative assessment nurse.

The key focus of this role is to ensure patients are prepared physically and psychologically for their planned cardiology procedure, ensuring appropriate information provision and identifying potential discharge concerns.

The pre-operative assessment clinics are nurse led and will be based at GHH with the flexibility to work alongside the cardiac catheter lab team across GHH, Solihull and BHH if pre op lists are up to date.

The role requires you to have knowledge of interventional cardiology procedures such as angiography, PCI and pacemaker implantation, however a period of training will be arranged.

* Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
