Job summary

We are currently expanding our cyber security team and looking to recruit a Junior Cyber Security Analyst who is a team player with drive, passion, and enthusiasm and is looking to play a crucial role in improving cyber security across a large and busy acute Trust. You will have a unique opportunity to work in the Trust's IT Cyber Security Team and progress your cyber career, having a direct impact on protecting the Trust, its systems, and its data.

Reporting to an IT Security Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge helping to provide comprehensive and effective cyber security and operational support for the Trust IT Services Department.

As a Junior Cyber Security Analyst, you will work within the Red Team function of the Cyber Security team, identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses in our applications, systems and infrastructure, and aid in the remediation process. This includes carrying out vulnerability assessments on applications and infrastructure using the plethora of tools UHB have available them.

You will be required to maintain up-to-date knowledge of the current and emerging cyber security threats and vulnerabilities using multiple security tools, knowledge bases, and the maintenance and monitoring of security systems in order to assist the trust in mitigating risk.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

As a Junior Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in enhancing the cyber security posture of the Trust. You will work within the Red Team function of the Cyber Security team, identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses in our applications, systems and infrastructure, and aid in the remediation process. This includes carrying out vulnerability assessments on applications and infrastructure using the plethora of tools UHB have available them.

The post holder will assist and support the Cyber Security team in ensuring that the Trusts IT network, computer systems and services remain secure, resilient, and robust.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that cyber security is aligned with business security and information governance. Ensuring that cyber security is effectively managed in all service and IT service management activities.

The post holder will need to be adaptable and to be able to priorities urgent enquiries which differ from their day-to-day work.

Key Skills:

*Expert Cyber security skills i.e. malware analysis, risk analysis, intrusion detection, reverse

*engineering, data analytics.

*Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated by communicating with colleagues, Partners and non-technical professionals on a daily basis.

*Able to work individually without direct supervision, and work in an agile environment.

Educated to HNC/HND level in a computing discipline or have equivalent experience. 

Experience

* Experience with the concepts of

ethical hacking, including

penetration testing, vulnerabilities

assessment and common attack

vectors.

* An understanding of cyber security

best practices, principles, and the

importance of safeguarding digital

assets.

* Foundational understanding of

network protocols, basic networking

concepts, and common network

configurations.

* Experience and knowledge of

different operating systems,

including Windows and Linux, and

their security features.

* Knowledge of common cyber security frameworks, such as NIST, CAF and ISO, and their application in security systems.

* Understanding of relevant ICT standards, legislation and regulations including compliance standards. In-depth knowledge of current and emerging security threats and technologies.

* Knowledge of information management and reporting
