We have a great opportunity working within Critical Care at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, for a responsible and enthusiastic individual to join our team of Ward Administrators.

This is a Full time - 37.5 hours - Monday - Friday 0800-1600 vacancy.

The successful candidate will providing a focused administration service within the Critical Care department. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham has the largest single Critical Care Unit in Europe.

We can offer you the opportunity to work in a supportive team, with regular supervision from your line manager to further develop your skills in this area of work. You will also have an annual appraisal in which personal and professional development needs will be identified and a plan agreed on how these can best be achieved. We are seeking a confident, organised, proactive and approachable person for the role. The ideal candidate will already have experience of working within an administrative role. We are looking for people with excellent communication skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel. Additional training will be offered as required.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

Ordering stationary and other items for Critical Care on Sage.

Providing Administrative support to the nursing team including maintaining the rostering system in regards to annual leave/sickness and mandatory training.

Creating new starter forms for the nursing team.

New starter's paperwork including email requests/parking/ID etc.

Completing workforce information including new starters/leavers and anyone who has changed banding or hours.

Circulating staffing reports to the senior nursing team.

Minuting of meetings within Critical Care.

Qualifications

Essential

* Numerate and Literate

* GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics and English Language or equivalent.

* RSA 2 or equivalent word processing

Experience

Essential

* Experience of working in either a customer facing role or within the general public/patients.

* Experience of a previous admin role in a Health Care Environment.
