The role entails:

Ensuring the clinics run smoothly

To handle any complaints that arise in their clinic/know when to escalate

The registered nurse will be provided with training for the compression dressings/stockings for vascular

Nurse led clinics

Support the Junior staff/HCA's

Cover a wide range of specialities

To carry the departments bleep when the sister is not available

Inform patients of any delays in clinic

House keeping duties (pharmacy, audits, infection control)

Sometimes it is the first time that patients visit the hospital and the department provides them with a good first impression of the hospital

Just moved to a brand new building (HTC) which provides a good clean modern environment to work in and a welcoming setting for the patients allowing them to have a one stop treatment plan

We require the candidate to be pro-active, be a good team player, be willing to move from Main OPD HTC to ENT OPD HTC if required (training will be provided)

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register
Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC 

Experience

Essential

Previous or recent experience of working in an acute secondary NHS care setting, can include student placements within the last 12 months
Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/competence
Experience of working on your own and in a team in a health care environment delegating to others within a team / providing supervision
Willingness to become a practice supervisor / assessor to meet Nursing and Midwifery Council standards for student supervision and assessment 

Additional Criteria

Essential

Demonstrate achievement of numeracy and literacy skills, which include drug administration calculations
Ability to read/write and speak, receive and understand instructions in English
Good IT skills ability to record information electronically
Competent in a range of clinical skills and willingness to undertake expanded practices relevant to the scope of practice required
Professional appearance
Display genuine interest in the post applied for and can articulate this when questioned
Positive and enthusiastic attitude
Ability to communicate articulately with others
Caring and approachable
Punctual and reliable
Ability to work a varied shift pattern including nights/weekends/unsocial hours where required
Describe why the Trust may deploy you to a different practice setting for a span of duty
