Main duties, tasks & skills required

Working within the Practice Placement Team, under the supervision of the Midwifery Practice Placement Manager, you will support the Practice Placement Team with the implementation and delivery of quality midwifery care through teaching, assessing and supervision of Practice Supervisors, Practice Assessors and undergraduate students within the Trust. You will also have exposure to work alongside colleagues developing the new SLCLE.

You will need to be a registered midwifery practitioner and have at least 12 months experience working with undergraduate healthcare students with a good understanding and knowledge of the local HEI processes for practice placements.

You will have a sound working knowledge of the Kudos model of supervision and assessment, in addition to the new NMC SSSA and be an up to date Gold Practice Assessor who is currently registered within the Trusts' database. You should also have experience in teaching a range of clinical skills and their delivery for all staff within your current role, have awareness of the undergraduate midwifery curriculum and be prepared to work flexibly across our 3 HGS sites. In this role you will be expected to support students in a variety of settings including clinical placement areas and clinical skills labs.

*Registered Midwife on the NMC Register

*Demonstrable experience as a Practice Assessor/Supervisor

*Degree in Health Care Subject

*Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development & competence

Desirable

*Teaching qualification (PG Cert (Ed) or equivalent
