Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse with an interest in haematology to join our CNS team in a new role as TTP CNS

You will

*develop a CNS service for a small group of patients with specific and ongoing needs

*support patients from emergency admission through a lifelong pathway of follow up and treatment Your compassion and ideas for providing care will be valued by our team

*implement pathways

*developing relationships with wards, critical care and ED environments

*have opportunities to learn skills such as SACT administration and plasma exchange

*You'll be passionate about sharing learning and delivering education sessions for nurses

*work as part of a team, escalate concerns and advocate for patients

*be able to make decisions, work independently and feedback to the team

*have support from CNS and apheresis team leaders, Band 7 CNS, Haematology Lead Nurse, Matron and Consultants

There will be opportunities to

*build knowledge in non-malignant haematology, the CNS role, and clinical skills with support from the Band 7 CNS, apheresis nurses and CNS teams

*be part of a national network of nurses, building relationships, sharing practice to support patients and representing the Trust nationally at conferences

Main duties, tasks & skills required

You will have a defined clinical workload within the non-malignant haematology CNS team, with a patient case load supporting the service with cross cover and be given opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in all aspects of non-malignant haematology

You will be supported to learn skills in SACT administration and in apheresis plasma exchange.

You will support patients with TTP at all stages of their treatment pathway and beyond.

You'll be instrumental in delivering patient and nurse education, and be supported to take opportunities to improve patient experience and service development
