An once in a career opportunity is now available for a Registered Nurse to join the brand new Heartlands Treatment Centre (HTC) Ambulatory Care Floor team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Nurse to play a key part in delivering professional clinical standards, advance patient experience and develop skills to drive excellent standard of care for our patients.

The brand new HTC Ambulatory Care floor area will consist of 30 multi-speciality ambulatory care trolleys and 10 overnight beds. Facilitating the pre & post op care and discharge for Intervention Radiology, Endoscopy, ENT, Imaging, General Surgical and Urology patients.

Previous surgery experience is not necessary as we will offer a supportive and tailored development program with a dedicated mentor, Clinical Education (CE) team support and protected supernumerary period. We welcome applications from newly qualified Nurses.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

You would be managing your own caseload of patients, both pre and post operatively. You will complete a nurse led admission for your group of patients and you must be able to communicate effectively to gain a detailed medical history in order to provide a safe pathway to theatre and discharge.

You will be required to work flexibly within the team in a dynamic and changeable environment which can evolve throughout the day with competing demands and post-operative requirements.

We want to find Nurses with excellent communication skills to link our team with the wider multidisciplinary services involved in our patient's pathway. We are looking for individuals who are not afraid to advocate for our patients and to build up a rapport in a time where they can feel anxious and uncertain about their procedure.
