Job summary

A new vacancy has been created within the Anaesthetic Associate team at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The hospital performs over 1500 surgeries a year and is now seeking to increase the AA team to ensure our patients access the treatment they need.

As part of the Anaesthetics Associate Team, you will be a reliable and committed professional who will help ensure we are continually adhering to our Trust values of Kind Connected and Bold. Working closely with the Consultant Anaesthetist, you as a key member of this team will have a direct and positive impact on how we care for our patients within the hospital.

At QE you will work in several specialised areas including the Regional Hands Trauma unit , Burns unit and Major Trauma service providing both regional, general anaesthesia and sedation for these busy specialities.

Other areas of work include pre- assessment, and Regional Block service with further development of service provision as team expands.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

Qualified Anaesthesia Associate, holding a Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in Physicians' Assistant (Anaesthesia).

Advanced Life Support Provider.

Evidence of affiliation of Royal College of Anaesthetists (where appropriate)

Registered on the MVR held by The Royal College of Anaesthetists (where appropriate)

Desirable

Demonstrable experience of multidisciplinary team working.
