Anticoagulation Clinical Support Worker (Phlebotomy)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to apply for the role of Clinical Support Worker UHB the Anticoagulation Team, the role is based within the phlebotomy team but you will also be required to support the nursing and administration team when required.
The role is primarily based at QEHB and an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and HCA / Phlebotomist to join our team.
Venepuncture training is essential as is the ability to work independently within the community to provide a first-class service to patients at home. This role encompasses providing a domiciliary service to patients and supporting the nursing team with the daily activities to maintain the smooth running of the anticoagulation service.
You must have a full UK driving licence and be willing to working across sites and independently in the community.
You will be required to work 5 shifts per week from 0800am to 1400pm Monday to Friday.
*To provide phlebotomy and Point of Care service within hospital clinics, patients own home, Nursing Homes and Satellite Hospitals.
*Administration and case load management.
*Maintaining high standard of care following trust values within clinics and the community.
*To support the administration staff and clinical nurse specialists with clinic administrative tasks.
*Help to assist CNS team in nurse led clinics
Anticoagulation experience is desirable but not essential, for the right candidate full Point of Care Training will be provided and a supernumerary period where you will work alongside an established member of the team.

*GCSE or equivalent in English & Mathematics (Functional skills level 2) or equivalent practical experience
*Phlebotomy Training Course
*Plus completion of competency-based workbook or equivalent experience to vocational qualification level 3.
*Point of Care Trained with handheld devices.
*Previous experience of working in a healthcare environment.
*Previous experience in venepuncture / Phlebotomy
*Awareness of the importance of, Confidentiality, Safeguarding, Infection Control.
*An understanding of Anticoagulation and blood disorders.
*Experience of using IT systems.
*Good communication skills to be able to work in situations where personal tact, diplomacy and judgment will be used and could be questioned.
*Professional, interpersonal, and interactional skills within a multi discipline team.
*Basic computer / IT skills
*Ability to work in environment with frequent exposure to body fluids and biological hazards.
*Ability to cope / work under pressure to tight deadlines.
*Able to work flexibly in designated areas that require a Phlebotomy / anticoagulation service, which meet the needs of service demand.
*A team player but also able to be an effective lone worker.
*Be able to work as an autonomous domiciliary / Satellite hospital phlebotomist / POC liaison within the anticoagulation team.
*Hold a Full UK Driving License
